Ron Mohrland
Welcome to your Union, I am your President.
I've worked in the baking industry for nearly 30 years having started at Baldinger Baking Company back in 1981, and later moved to McGlynn’s Bakeries. Before I was elected into the Union office I was employed by Lofthouse Bakeries, a subsidiary of Ralcorp. My experience in the industry has been in the larger scale production facilities. I am aware of how demanding the work is, lots of long days on your feet in a hot, noisy, and humid environment. Since coming into the Union office in 2005 I have participated in negotiating all of your contracts at least once, and I have had the opportunity to meet most of you.
The office of Local #22 has a good blend of representation. Bruce Peglow, your Vice President comes from the retail stores, and your Financial Recording Secretary, Doug Lemke comes from Lunds/Byerly’s. We believe our combined experience of almost 90 years in the industry gives us a good perspective of your concerns. As you face your daily challenges at work, rest assured that we have been there.
Standards which this office has strived for in the past 4 years has been internal organizing, communicating, and better servicing you the dues paying member. Our new website adds to our shop visits and numerous membership meetings. I encourage you to use it.
In Solidarity,
Ron Mohrland,
President, BCTGM Local #22
